The Mobile Green Jobs Workforce Center is Coming to a Town Near You

The Mobile Green Jobs Workforce Center is travelling around New Mexico to give information on green jobs in New Mexico. Most stops include Local Workforce Connection offices where staff often meet with local officials, economic development representatives, education institution staff, tribal representatives, students and job seekers. The Mobile Green Jobs Workforce Center has also been attending job fairs, such as the Western New Mexico University Academic & Research Symposium/Career Fair, and education events, such as the Grand Opening of the Santa Fe Community Colleges new Applied Technologies Facility. The conference was held on Tuesday, March 22, at the New Mexico Farm and Ranch Museum in Las Cruces 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. A group of interested employers, employees and educators gathered to discuss and review information on the emerging green economy.
- Preliminary Results of the recent statewide green jobs survey was released.
- Educators discussed training and educational opportunities.
- Employers helped identify current and future green job needs.
- Potential efforts at growing the green industry in NM was discussed.
- The Mobile Green Jobs Workforce Center was debut in Las Cruces at the event.
