From page 2 of New Mexico Green Jobs Report: 2011, "There were approximately 35,800 private-sector green jobs in New Mexico in 2009. This represents approximately 5.9 percent of total private-sector employment. Of those green jobs, approximately 12,790 were primary green jobs, representing 2.1 percent of total private-sector employment." The first step is to check and see if your job is one of the 95 that are listed as being green. To get a list of common green jobs in New Mexico, go to:
- Start at www.greenjobs.state.nm.us.
- Scroll down until you see "Definition" on the left-hand side.
- Click on "What is Green."
If your job is listed, the next step is to find appropriate training go to:
- Click on the tab Career Services.
- Under the Develop section, Select "Green Programs" and research current available training by program.
Another resource is the Education Publication which can be found under the Publications section at: www.greenjobs.state.nm.us.
If your job is not listed:
- Start at www.greenjobs.state.nm.us.

- Select "Research Occupations."
- Under the Search section and under the job title field, enter your occupation.
- Select the "Search" button.
- On the right panel, a list of occupations will appear that best match the job title you entered.
- On the right panel, Select a job title to find out information on wages, education, job openings, and other information for that occupation.
